Coachella’s lineup has grown increasingly amazing year by year. It’s been a long while since I was remotely disappointed in the plethora of amazing acts. Unfortunately this year is the first in many I won’t be copping a ticket. With previous headliners like Drake, The Weekend, and Outkast, this year had some stiff competition. Unfortunately the first day kicks off with an underwhelming LCD Soundsystem. Don’t get me wrong, “Christmas Will Break Your Heart” is an amazingly original and dope concept… but who the hell knows that song? Outside of music junkies like myself I don’t see Coachella’s demographic responding to them. I could be wrong but let me know what you guys think. Guns N’ Roses has a chance of being a hit or miss. Can’t say ACDC did the show justice last year so I’m hoping for a oneup. The crows just was’t with them. The weekend might just be saved by the energy and familiarity of Calvin Harris on the closing night, but it’s a long three days to wait for him. For those who are going, you’ll still be delighted with a bunch of the nonheadliners. I’m most excited to see what Alessia Cara, M83, Sufjan Stevens, A$AP Rocky, Ice Cube, Skepta, CHVRCHES, and Sia bring to the table. I think it’s really up to the smaller acts to carry the festival this time around. That being said, I’m still saving my money for what I hope will be a meatier lineup in the future. Going to also buy some tickets to Alessia and Rocky’s solo shows as soon as possible. Are you guys going to Coachella this year?
