Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have released their new joint album, This Unruly Mess I’ve Made. It is a collection of 13 songs including the four tracks that we already were able to listen to. “Downtown,” “Growing Up,” “Kevin,” and the controversial “White Privilege II” are featured alongside big-time collaborations with artists like Chance the Rapper, YG, and DJ Premier.
“White Privilege II” had brought a lot of attention and controversy to the duo and many artists such as Iggy Azalea, Machine Gun Kelly and Talib Kweli voiced their opinions about the track and the entire internet seemed to have a plethora of different opinions. We gave the whole album a listen and a few songs stood out to us that really took it home. The Chance the Rapper collab really stood out and the previously released “Growing up” brought tears to our eyes.
Macklemore’s unique voice and Ryan Lewis’ raw beats combine perfectly for a dope result. It fathoms us how the duo always seem to find undiscovered vocals that never fail to blow our minds away.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will be performing at Neumos in Seattle tomorrow, and the whole show will be streamed live courtesy of Amazon. For more information, visit here.
We look forward to their next project.
